CHINA, Compagnie des Indes - 18th century, circa 1733-1735 Famille rose polychrome enameled porcelain plate decorated with a silver coat of arms with gules chevron and acorn, probably for the Dutch market, the fall decorated with flower reserves on a diamond background, the rim with peony, chrysanthemum and plum reserves on a honeycomb background. diam. 23 cm Although the coat-of-arms is unidentified, the rhombus and honeycomb decoration on this plate is similar to several known Dutch services. This type of decoration was particularly popular with Dutch customers. Reference: A similar plate reproduced in Jochem Kroes, Chinese Armorial Porcelain: for the Dutch Market, 2007, n°S2. Appraised by Alice Jossaume and Camille Despré, Cabinet Portier, Paris
