ALFA ROMEO ALFASUD SPRINT - Lot 59
ALFA ROMEO ALFASUD SPRINT In 1971, Alfa-Romeo inaugurated a new factory in southern Italy to produce a brand-new car. Its name was apt: "Alfasud". A revolutionary car for the manufacturer, it was a small front-wheel-drive sedan with 2 or 4 doors, powered by a 1.2-liter water-cooled flat-4 engine. Like all self-respecting Alfa-Romeo cars, it was followed in 1976 by a coupé derivative, the "Sprint", designed by Giugiaro. All the technical aspects were similar to those of the sedan, only the engines were slightly more powerful, available in 1.3-bed and 1.5-bed versions. The second series introduced the "QV", "Quadrifolio Verde", named after the pre-war racing team. Its 1.5-bed engine develops 105 HP, and it can be recognized by the colored stripes added to the bumpers and minor interior details. Production continued until 1989, with over 120,000 units built. The sedan was replaced long before the coupé, in 1984. The example we present is from 1985, it has had 2 owners and the current family has had it for 10 years. It has been regularly serviced and has 61,138 km under warranty. Refurbishment work is required to appraise the vehicle. In its original color, both inside and out, it represents a very good base for those wishing to purchase a youngtimer at an attractive price.
