TRIUMPH TR 3 A - Lot 48
TRIUMPH TR 3 A Introduced in 1957, it was the successor to the TR2 and TR3. It is still equipped with the 4-cylinder 2-bed engine from the "Standard Vanquard", developing 100 HP. To distinguish it from its predecessor, a new front grille was added. Spartan and light, it proved to be an excellent sports car, winning numerous rallies and circuit races. Until 1962, over 58,000 units were produced, 2.5 times more than the TR2 and TR3 combined. It was replaced by the aptly-named TR 4 from 1961, designed by Michelotti in a totally different style. This 1961 vehicle is right-hand drive. Its odometer reads 95,523 km. The offered vehicle benefits from a 2019 veteran appraisal and will be appraised on the day of sale. A great deal of mechanical work has been carried out on the vehicle, including ignition, suspension and silent blocks. The vehicle is very pleasant to drive and the interior is in very good overall condition. An opportunity to enjoy this small roadster with unrivalled English charm.
