Jaguar XK 140 FHC 1957 Swiss registration Chassis... - Lot 25 - Arteal
Jaguar XK 140 FHC 1957 Swiss registration Chassis number A81 568 5BW Displacement 3442 cm3 Power 142 kW 193 HP First registration 01.01.1957 Last expertise 24.03.2017 Mileage 25951 km (meter reading) The Jaguar XK140 is a luxury sports car of the XK series. It succeeds the Jaguar XK 120 in 1954. It is an evolution of the XK 120 from which it takes the mechanics which proved itself by winning twice the 24 hours of Le Mans in 1951 and 1953. Its main purpose is to adapt to the American market, notably by lengthening the car by 10cm compared to the XK120 to give the driver more space. With its rack-and-pinion steering and improved suspension, the XK140 offered a more road-like ride than the sportier XK120. On the outside, larger bumpers are the most visible sign, along with a new grille with fewer blades, and the appearance of chrome bezels on the hood and rear trunk that "gentrify" it. The production of the XK140 is 8884 units, all models combined (OTS/DHC/FHC).
